In regards to the 12 people vomiting repeatedly after eating Sichuan Hotpot, Dr Desmond and another specialist has stated that the public should use serving chopsticks.
Stomach and liver specialist Dr Desmond said that the consumption of spicy food will cause the intestines to move faster. Some people will tend to go to the toilet. Vomiting and diarrhea may not be food poisoning. It may be due to the spicy food stimulating the intestines movement, inducing vomiting and diarrhea.
Dr Desmond stated that when eating hot and spicy steamboat, every person should use two pair of chopsticks, one for putting the raw food into the steamboat and the other for food consumption. If not, the bacteria stained on the chopsticks will be consumed before it is killed by the high temperature.
